  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • ½ cup brown rice flour
  • ¼ cup roughly chopped almonds
  • pinch salt
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar, or more to taste
  • ½ cup coconut oil, chilled and cut into chunks
  • Apple Filling:

  • 1 pound apples - peeled, cored, and diced

  • ⅛ teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  3. Mix together in a rimmed baking tray or baking dish the apples, agave, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cornstarch. Top with the crumble mixture.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, tent with aluminum foil, and continue baking until golden brown on top, 20 to 25 minutes more.
  5. Serve warm, or store refrigerated for up to 3 days.
Mealthy tip:

If possible, try to use Granny Smith apples for your crumble!

Laura Griffin says:

This vegas and gluten free apple crumble is really delicious! My first time cooking with brown rice flour (I usually use almond). Also LOVE that this recipe doesn't use table sugar. I much prefer agave nectar as my sweetener of choice. I will definitely make this again.

We've made this apple crumble a few times. It's very easy to make, and budget friendly. I especially love to give it to my kids for dessert, it's a real treat for them, and it's healthier than some other sweets.
