Use a mandoline to slice the sweet potato into uniformly thin slices.

Sweet potatoes can overcook in as little as 1 minute, hence the varying cooking time. Check at 13 minutes and extend time to 15 minutes, if needed. They turn a gray/black color when overcooked. Some air fryers do not require you to flip the food to cook evenly on both sides, but if your air fryer does, then flip the chips halfway through cooking.

Try different seasonings on the chips. Add curry powder, garlic powder, or cayenne pepper when you toss the sweet potato in oil and salt.

My wife is a big fan of sweet potato chips so when we found this recipe to try out in our new air fryer she was super excited. This recipe was extremely easy and they came out perfect. We seasoned them with some of my homemade BBQ seasoning and had them with some tuna salad sandwiches.
