Alli Shircliff says:

The cumin, turmeric, and black pepper are the perfect trifecta for flavoring this soup. Everyone in my family likes lentils, so this is always a crowd-pleaser.

Sarah M says:

Please don’t be upset with me Vegetarians but I used low sodium chicken broth because I had it on hand. I also sautéd my onions briefly to soften. Overall big hit for the entire family! The turmeric added great flavour and colour.

Good recipe but a bit less spicy than I like lentils to be. So added ½ tsp of ginger and ½ tsp of Ethiopian berbere spice. Excellent! Will do again.
