Mealthy Tip

Try different seasonings depending on how you plan to use the croutons. Garlic powder would be great on them if you plan to use them in a Caesar salad. Cayenne pepper is a nice addition of you plan to use the croutons on a soup, like tomato soup.

These are absolutely fantastic! Best. Croutons. Ever. I cubed bread & left it in a bowl overnight to get extra 'stale.' Find this helps to get uniform coverage of spices/oils. I used clarified butter, garlic powder, pepper, parmesan cheese. I did drop the CrispLid basket, using a lower trivet at 350°F. The trick is stirring every so often to get uniform browning. This recipe is a keeper & so easy! Had to be careful not to eat these by the handful, so delicious!
